Emma Hoffmann is a painter located in Charlotte, North Carolina. She was born in Fuquay Varina, North Carolina, but regards Charlotte as the city that has shaped her artistic and personal endeavors. Since being a young teen, she has enjoyed painting and drawing the human figure, primarily creating works using oil paints and charcoal.
Art has always been a prominent part of Emma's life; her earliest memories being making papercrafts with her babysitter and admiring her older brother's paintings that he would bring home from school. She knew that she was meant to be a painter when she started attending art classes at the Holt School of Fine art at the age of 12.
Since then, she has become an employee of Holt School and has moved up from being an intern at the age of 15 to an instructor, and now presently holds the position of Youth Program Director. She regards her mentors Kate Stewart, Nicholas Stewart, and Holt Cleaver as primary forces in giving her the courage to get her BFA in painting from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
